National Minimum Standards (NMS) for the
Restaurants and Lodging Industry in Uganda
Uganda Restaurants and Lodging Association (URLA) has, along with key specialists in the industry, developed a minimum standards and policies with clear and measurable guidelines to assist the restaurant and lodging industry in Uganda in self-regulation and standardization. Restaurants and lodges that comply with the guidelines for the various policies may display the relevant accreditation on their premises.

Restaurants and lodges that comply with the guidelines for the various policies may display the relevant accreditation on their premises.
Restaurants that adhere to the URLA policies
are allowed to display a specially adapted version of Uganda Tourism’s Welcome
logo and will be listed as an accredited restaurant on URLA website,
Listings on this website will also
carry the various URLA policy endorsements and will be plotted on URLA database
which is supplied to various key industry players in the digital mapping and
navigation arena.
Creating awareness and educating the public on the minimum standards that should be expected from the restaurant industry is a key element to the URLA policies program.
